We will find best solutions to increase competitiveness of companies in automotive industry, PM Ciolacu says

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu declared on Friday, in a press conference held in Sibiu, that in the coming period, solutions would be found to support companies operating in the automotive industry.

The Government’s head paid a visit to the Marquardt Schaltsysteme factory in Sibiu, in which context he emphasized that among the first 100 exporters in Romania, 50 are either producers of components for the automotive industry or producers of passenger cars, pointing out that apart from the two large factories in Pitesti and Craiova, Dacia and Ford, an entire industry has developed. “At the company we visited, where we met with several businesspeople from several fields, the export is 100%. The export of this field of activity represents around 30 billion euros annually. Really, due to the limited time, we could not cover the entire agenda, but I am firmly convinced that in the coming period we will communicate directly and find the best solutions to increase the competitiveness of these companies. It is a very developed industrial area in Sibiu and we want to continue, especially since the ice has already been broken and we have the first state aid amounting to almost 100 million euros to a company that operates in Oradea. I think this is the best example and this is what I promised: a re-industrialization of Romania”, said the prime minister. Marcel Ciolacu also said that he is worried about Romania’s trade balance, stating that although it was reduced by almost four billion euros, much more could be done.
